Weekly Check-in 140

I gave myself permission not to write last Sunday night because we were away in Angelsey and I spent hours and hours being sick. Lovely, I know.

What with that Nathan being on crutches, we had a bit of a bumpy start to our leave! Once we settled in, we had a nice time though.

So over the last fortnight, it was Father’s Day, I did a baptism, I met with couples whose banns of marriage were read at ASSF, I went on conference with four others from church, I helped at the family fun afternoon at church and I did a whole load of admin. I also learned to drink whisky (it was a great conference!).

On holiday, we ate very well, visited a farm and butterfly house, paddled, played in a sandpit, visited three wool shops, called in at Llandudno and hired and subsequently broke a mobility scooter. I also helped Nathan drink some whisky (it was a great trip to the pub!)

Nathan and a goat (the goat was fine).

Challenge: arriving back home from the conference to find a husband who couldn’t walk and a daughter who was sick for six hours overnight. Not my favourite patently moment so far.

Ta-Dah Moment: I think getting away on holiday was a mission in itself! I packed and loaded the car because Nathan was out of action. Thankfully, reinforcements were on hand in the form of my family when we arrived!

All hail Bubba (my Dad), Granny (my Mum), TizTiz (my sister), Gran Gran (my Granny) and Grandpa (my Grandpa) for having Soph when we were both feeling rough! And also huge thanks to Polly (mother-in-law) who stepped in to help Nathan out with Soph after he’d tripped down the stairs and bust his foot.

God moment: being anointed at the conference by +Philip.

Mum moment: there were so many this week! I always notice more when I’m spending more time with Sophia. I think watching her fall in love with the sea was a particular highlight for me this week. Although her wails of ‘sea… sea… SEA!’ as we walked up the beach to the car were a little heartbreaking.

Next week: I’m very much looking forward to having lunch and processing the conference at the Vicarage on Wednesday.

Sophia’s new words: baba do it, go away, Gom-par (Grandpa), pun (spoon), deddiz (teddies) and olly (dolly).
