Happy Sunday!
Since we got back from Germany, things have been pretty much none stop! From a funeral to our family service, from open table to nursery graduations, from Standing Committee meeting to baptism visits, it’s been a bit mad!
Highlights include: Chester Mystery Plays with Nathan (see picture at the top), a playdate with one of Soph’s little pals, and afternoon tea with the Women’s Fellowship.

Challenge: I had three dollops of criticism in one day. It was mostly fair enough, and I took it all on the chin, but it’s still not easy. I learned some good lessons, though: be better with dates, don’t rely on contacts you thought you had, and keep a more active eye out for strangers in the Hub cafe.
Ta-Dah Moment: I was solo parenting yesterday and today. I’ve done this many times before, but, as I suddenly realised halfway though, never on a Sunday morning. The Ta-Dah Moment this week has got to be getting out of the house with us both dressed, teeth cleaned, hair done, with all the bags we needed, on time this morning!
God moment: I met with a potential spiritual director, and it was fab. In the last week, I’ve rediscovered journaling and I’m able to think about myself more as Poppy, rather than mainly priest, wife and mother. I’m focusing on what made me feel close to God today. Sometimes, it will be directly related to being a wife or priest or mother, but not always, and that’s good.
Mum moment: so many this week! Soph settled really well for her Nanny when we went out on Friday. She tried to sing one of the hymns in church this morning. Tonight, we were invited to the youth club BBQ, but Soph just wanted to join in with the ballroom class social in the hall! And then when we came home, we had great fun with toys I’ve never come across before, called bath crayons (see photo below!)

Next week I’m looking forward to catching up with the Leading Your Church Into Growth team and Nathan’s birthday.
Gosh, you’ve had a busy week Poppy. I don’t know how you do it all!!
Sorry to hear that you received a lot of criticism on one day; it’s never nice and I hope you’re ok.
You’re a great person and I appreciate all that you do for ASSF. Thank you for your support; it’s very much appreciated.
Sending you hugs Poppy.
God bless
Gill DW
