Weekly Check-in 147

Hey and happy Sunday!

It’s been a couple of weeks since my last check in, but what with Greenbelt, Greenbelt recovery and a couple of days organising the house, things have only been back to normal for just over a week.

So what’s been going on? I’ve taken a baptism, the blessing of the schoolbags service, a family service, and our Open Table service. Our lovely Hub has been open for an extra day so that parents could drop by after seeing their children into school. We’ve been to the Zoo and Croxteth Hall Farm. I’ve been out for lunch with some ladies from church, and Soph and I have been back volunteering at Breastfeeding Support Group. I’ve written sermons and services, and today, I led our PCC away afternoon. It’s been far from quiet!

The highlight since I last checked in has been the glorious weather! Although, I am ready to be a bit less sticky!

Ta-Dah Moment: finishing a knitting project that really did drag on and on…

Challenge: I was really buzzing for Blessing Of The Schoolbags and the special Hub coffee morning for parents. But on the afternoon of the service it was baking hot, and so there was us three, plus two other families and my brilliant wardens. The Hub morning was even less well attended! Looking back, I’m not too discouraged because both were going to be hard sells so soon after summer. But two new events with low turnout within the space of three days was a bit of a hard pill to swallow at the time.

God moment: I had a knock at the end of the holidays, and it left me feeling a bit fuzzy and out of focus. But today, during worship, with absolute clarity, I could feel God at work in my life and the lives of people around me.

This week I am grateful for so many things. That Soph seems such more settled in toddler room, having my car valeted, icecream with sprinkles, Nathan preaching at Open Table for me, learning to crochet granny squares, Nathan’s fresh tomatoes, just to name a few!

Mum moment: Sophia falling asleep praying for some of her people: ‘Granny blah blah blah, Amen’!

New words and prhases: Wa dat Mama? What’s that Mama? Tank oo ee much! Thank you very much. See boy. Silly boy. Eyes boy. Nice boy. Er goin Dada? Where are you going Dada? Mar-toes! Tomatoes – see the picture at the top!

Next week: I’m looking forward to the Leading Your Evangelism into Growth course and seeing my Mum, Dad, Granny and Grandpa.
