Hi and welcome to another Two Tuesday!
A funny moment this week: walking into the living room where Nathan was in charge of Sophia and Aidan. Aidan was beginning to grumble, and Sophia was sat next to him with her top lifted up, trying to feed him (in our house, this is called booboo).
‘Whatcha doing Soph?’ I asked.
‘I’m giving him booboo Mummy, he’s crying!’
Places we’ve been this week: Grandma and Grandad’s 60th wedding anniversary party, a friend’s 2nd birthday party (where we met Ariel!), Tappy Toes, Dunelm for a new bathroom light pull, Little Saints toddler group, Crossroads Cafe for lunch and yesterday, Aidan and I had a morning in the Hub followed by a wander around the retail park. That last one was with just one child, but there’s no way I’d have managed that when Sophia was less than 4 weeks old!

Milestones: a big one today… we’ve been discharged from the midwives! And Aidan is over 8lbs, meaning that he’s gained 10 ounces in 7 days!

Some other observations:
It turns out that there’s no easier way to get a toddler to giggle than by having a conversation with Alexa about farting!
I’ve now been off work long enough to start to critique my performance. I regularly assess how things go at the time, but I rarely have the headspace to stand back and think ‘yep, I need to polish that process up’ or ‘I would like to find a way to prioritise that more’ or ‘I wonder how other people do that particular thing’. I’ve not started writing a list yet, but it is only a matter of time.
It has been a tremendous blessing to spend such a lot of downtime with Nathan over the last few weeks. The first part of his leave comes to an end soon, and I will miss him being around so much until he has some more parental leave in the new year. I can’t remember when we last spent this much quality time together. We might never have done so! But it’s been a really special few weeks.
We have been blessed with so many amazing gifts, presents and cards over the past few weeks. I’m loathed to pick out any particular parcel, but I do need to say that The Cornish Company Cream Tea went down a real treat! Fluffy scones, delicious tea and Rodda’s clotted cream were a highlight in a rainy, tiring week. A big thanks to my sending church, All Hallows, for sending it in a week where we’re experiencing lots of cluster feeding in the wee small hours. You are some of the best people I know!
