Two Tuesday 18

It’s the first week of the new year, and we’re doing much better. We’re a bit sniffly, but nobody has been sick for at least 10 days. Sophia went back to nursery yesterday, so things are starting to settle again after the December madness.

We’ve been to Nathan’s Mum and Dad’s for lunch, the shops, the Hub, Lullababy, group and a party at a soft play we hadn’t been to before. We also had a lot of fun in the snow!

Milestones: if you put Aidan down on the floor, face down with no trousers on, he makes strong movements with his legs. If you help him by holding his head up and taking the weight of his chest, he can move himself along. Send help!

Aidan is 4 months old!

We’ve applied for Sophia’s school place for September!

Other observations

Aidan has started smiling at Sophia and it’s just wonderful! It makes me so happy. Even when he’s upset, Soph will say ‘I think he’s crying for booboo Mummy’ because she thinks he needs a feed.

On a completely different note, I’ve started a programme with my old Sweaty Mama instructor called ‘Iconic You’. It’s an exercised based thing, and it also helps create good habits in terms of nutrition and movement. It’s way out of my comfort zone, and I’m not sure how I’ll get on with logging everything I consume every day for 12 weeks. However, I’m loving the workouts, especially as I can now choose my own music, which is obviously mostly musicals!

Another thing I did this week was pack up the newborn and 0-3 month clothes. A very good friend is expecting, so I wanted to pack a box up for her. Even though I’m delighted for her and I know the clothes couldn’t be going to a better home, I was very emotional saying goodbye to them and to that phase of life.

What Sophia said:

Saturday afternoon:

‘So Mummy, I’ve been thinking. Would you like to take the service at your church tomorrow?’

‘I’d love to but I’m not doing services at the moment because Aidan is a baby’.

‘Well, I’d like you to, and I think you should’.
