20! 20 weeks! Blimey.
We’ve been away on a little break (blog incoming shortly) to a town near Litchfield. It was our first time away as a little four, and it was delightful. Frosty and chilly, with a day trip to Birmingham, three kids play places and lots of time watching DVDs, eating tasty food. It was just what we needed.
Since we got back on Friday, we’ve been to group, the park with the ducks, St Giles, the shops and Lullababy.
Milestones: Aidan is somehow just about bursting out of the age 3-6 months clothes. He’s only 4 and a half months old!
Some other observations.
When Sophia went back to nursery yesterday morning and it all went quiet, I’m sure Aidan was looking around for her! Similarly, when she got back last night, all she wanted to do was cuddle him. It was very cute.
Even when you do laundry when you’re away, getting through the rest of it when you get back is a mission!
Sophia has taken to watching my favourite childhood film, Calamity Jane. She also loves standing on various pieces of furniture singing Cynthia Arivo’s final Defying Gravity riff. I’m so proud.
Nathan and I are on the same committee, and they met last night. Our conversation over tea went something like this:
Me, half joking, ‘who is going to DMPC then?’.
Nathan said something very sensible about boundaries and mat leave.
I said ‘Nathan, please let me go to the party!’.
He looked at me like I’d lost my mind. ‘Poppy, it’s not a party, it’s DMPC.’
‘That’s basically a party! I had my Christmas do at Lidl, don’t forget…’.
Anyway, Nathan went to the meeting and wasn’t back until gone half 10, by which point I was snuggling down. I think I made the right call in the end!
What Sophia said: ‘Don’t forget, when Aidan wakes up you can give him booboo and a burp. Then he might need a nappy change. OK?’
More next time x
