It’s been a bumpy couple of weeks but today I’m feeling much more myself.

This week we’ve been to: toddler group at ASSF, the canal to feed the ducks, breastfeeding group, the shops, the garden centre, ASSF for church and Lullababy, followed by lunch with 6 other babies and Mums. We also celebrated my brother-in-law’s 30th with a chinese, when Aidan had a go on some of Sophia’s unwanted broccoli!

Milestones: Aidan can officially roll onto one side on a hard surface. I was chatting after Lullababy today and when I looked over, he was like this!

As mentioned above, Aidan had a little chomp on some broccoli! We aren’t ready to fully wean him yet, but like we did with Soph, we’re letting him try little bits and flavours to slowly build up his interest in food for when we start properly in a few weeks time.

Other observations:

Focusing on looking after yourself is helpful when there’s lots going on around you that you can’t control. I’m on a bit of a health kick. I’m loving the workouts and find that they help clear my mind. I’m not so great at logging all my food but I’m working on it. This week, I also had a ‘borrow bag’ of Tropic skincare items, which were a real treat to use each morning and evening. Trying to be more mindful about how I’m treating my body can be no bad thing.

What Sophia said:

A couple of conversations to relay to you. Here is the first:

Me: Please don’t climb on that chair.

…

Me: Sophia, you can’t climb on that chair!

Sophia: you can if it’s true love.

This makes no sense, but she keeps saying it in response to random things. It’s really quite funny because I eventually realised that she’s quoting Anna from Frozen.

Here’s the next one:

Me: please lie down.

Sophia: why?

Me: because it’s time to sleep.

Sophia: why?

Me: because it’s nighttime.

Sophia: why?

Me: because it’s dark.

Sophia: it’s not dark.

Me: yes it is.

Sophia: no it’s not.

Me: Sophia, it is dark.

Sophia: well, I think I could be awake now and sleep when it’s the day.

Me: that’s not how it works, please lie down.

Sophia: okay!

Aside from the teenage melodrama at the end, we were literally arguing about whether it was dark or not. That’s three year olds for you!
