Two Tuesday 24

I think this blog should be called ‘Three Tuesday 1’ because we’ve got our Goddaughter staying tonight. Nathan’s done his foot in (what’s new!) and had meetings at 5 and 7.30, which meant a taxi in between. The first meeting went on, the taxi was late, so in the end we saw him for 10 minutes and he was off again. So I’m in bed getting an early night – the workout and laundry can wait!

Anyway, this week we’ve been to the Valentines Lullababy special (which was The Day We Lost Laura), Tappy Toes, my Mum and Dad’s, out for afternoon tea, and Granny’s house, all while fighting off sniffles and coughs.

On Sunday, we went to St John’s in Worksop, where Mum did some heritage engagement work last year. What a lovely bunch of people! They’re looking for a new vicar so if you’re interested, I can send you the info.

Anyway, we were there for the morning where they were thinking about church finances and donations, aka, giving Sunday. Ordinarily, I’d have groaned out loud about visiting a church on this slightly-awkward-because-we-are-British-and-dont-like-to-talk-about-money Sunday, but it was a great service and the talk was excellent. I do not say that lightly. I have pinched various ideas, and the preacher was kind enough to give me a copy of his script! It was strange to be in Retford and not go to All Hallows but there we are.

Milestones: I can now say that I have settled 3 children in one evening by myself! And no, I’m not in a hurry to repeat the experience. I also drove all three children from Wales to Aintree. With my car being quite small, the biggest was in the front. Having one of those chunky carseats in the front obscures the view unless the child is willing to lean back (which she was). I can’t remember when I was last that nervous when driving!

What Sophia said: After three books at bedtime, we read a story from Sophia’s toddler Bible. She decided she wanted to read it one night. So she sat with it open on her knee, wanting to read but not sure how.

So I said ‘What does Jesus say, Soph?’

And she replied, ‘I am God and I love you’.

More next week x
