Hello! I’ve spent the evening working out and cleaning. I’ve just had a shower and I feel very fresh, but I’ve just seen the time! So it will be quite a quick one from me tonight.
So, this week we’ve been to a cafe, Tappy Toes, St Asaph for a very special installation, the shops, the Hub, Lullababy, Cheshire Oaks and Sophia and I went on a girls date to a bakery for International Women’s Day.
For world book day (on Wednesday at Nursery), Sophia was the cat from one of her favourite stories, Goodnight Cat. Nathan made her paws and a tail and I knitted her cat ears on a headband and painted her face. Teamwork! On the Thursday, she was with me for the day and she was Rapunzel. Aidan was Mr Bounce, sporting a yellow cardigan.

Milestones: Aidan can roll from tummy to back! We’ve also started his weaning journey, beginning with one meal a day. He seems to be enjoying it, but he gets frustrated when he becomes tired after sitting up in the high chair for a while. So far, his favourite foods are grapes (held in a silicone dummy type thing so that there’s no risk of choking), chicken, and full fat Greek yoghurt. He was not very impressed with broccoli, carrot or toast with cream cheese.
Other observations
Having hit the half way mark, I can see that I’ve spent the last six months recovering. Obviously I’ve been recovering from pregnancy and birth, but I’ve also been recovering from having such a fast paced life for the last few years. I’m going to see the next six months as preparation for the next chapter. I don’t mean that I’m going to be writing a years worth of sermons (although I might do a couple). I mean that I’m going to try and get into really good habits to help me in the next season, whatever it looks like. And on that note, it’s time for bed!
One last thing, what Sophia said:
At bedtime, I was reading to her from 2 Kings in the Bible (as you do). She heard me mention Baal-zebub (a Philistine god).
Sophia: Baal-zebub? Like Baal-zeBubba?
Me: laughing, maybe!
Sophia: Baal-zeGran! Baal-zeTiz! Baal-zeMum! Baal-zeDad!
Etc, until she’s listed many of the people she knows. We’re all Philistine gods, apparently!
