Two Tuesday 28

These Tuesdays are starting to whip around fast!

This week we’ve been to: the zoo, Wales for Sophia’s Godmother’s licensing (the singing was amazing!), group, Lullababy, the shops, Tappy Toes and nursery for a chat.

Milestones: We have a working dishwasher for the first time since November.

I bought Sophia a summer school dress.

Aidan can feed himself puree and yoghurt. His favourite foods this week have been chunky fusilli pasta and poached pear. He wasn’t too keen on avocado or banana on toast.

Other stuff:

Somehow, I found myself sat at the end of the front pew of a church, next to the aisle, right at the front, facing a Bishop, an Archdeacon, a couple of canons, and many other clergy and lay minsters. On my knee was Aidan, who kept needing a feed and was fussy when I got him to latch. He wanted more flesh to be exposed than I did and we were both getting frustrated about that. Next to him was Sophia, who had found a fruitshoot from somewhere and was snacking on smarties. She was playing with a magnetic picture game and kept saying ‘TADAH’ when she had finished. Then there was our 8 year old Goddaughter, then Nathan. It was a beautiful service but not the easiest from where I was sitting!

What Sophia said: Sophia was asleep when we ordered Macdonalds on the way to Wales. When she stirred, we told her there was Maccies and she woke up very quickly! She gobbled up all the nuggets and asked for a drink. Nathan swapped the Happy Meal for her milk. Sophia then asked for her chips back. Unfortunately, her chips had been eaten. She was shocked, but she didn’t have a meltdown. She just made her Dad promise that he’d treat her to another one soon!

Aidan, on the other hand, did have a meltdown (possibly his worst ever) for the last 40 minutes of the return journey. He is a creature of habit and does not like to be anywhere apart from at home, eating tea, having his bath, and going to bed in an evening. Because of this pretty bad experience, the new plan is to try to make sure Aidan isn’t travelling after 5.30pm. Obviously, if there’s an emergency or something overruns, we will deal with it, but all that screaming is not an experience I’m keen to repeat!
