Two Tuesday 30

As if Aidan is 30 weeks old tomorrow!

It’s been a busy old week with lots of church stuff. We’ve been to: Ventures Childcare Annual Meeting at church, a playdate, Toddlers at church, Tappy Toes, a trustee meeting at church, hot chocolate at church, coffee morning at church, a milkshake hunt in Formby, Mothering Day service at church, Mother’s Day meal at the Chinese, the park and the canal to feed the ducks.

It basically felt like a full week from last year, let’s be honest! Super impressed with both Soph and Aidan being brilliant in a trustee meeting, as that’s something I didn’t expect!

I’ve kept Sophia with me for the past 2 days in case she has chicken pox. I don’t think she has, but better to be safe than sorry. We’ve had a brilliant time, making pancakes, playing nail salons, reading, watching Bluey and turning the playcouch into a stage, a nursery, a bus and an ambulance!

Milestones: obviously the chicken pox will be a big deal if that’s what it is!

Food: Aidan is a fan of mushy peas and he also had a good go on a spring roll. He likes melon but is yet to be convinced by orange. He also turned his nose up at mine and Soph’s banana and chocolate chip pancakes, which is his loss ‘cos they were ace.

What Sophia said:

We’re reading through her toddler Bible for the third of fourth time. She has three bedtime stories and then a chapter or two from the Bible. Two nights ago, we were reading the chapter called ‘a very sad day’, which is Jesus’ death.

Our conversation went like this:

S: so he died?

Me: yes he did

S: did he have a poorly toe?

Me: a poorly toe?

S: yes, look! *points at nail mark*.

Me: oh yes, that’s where the nails went in. There are marks on his hands too. It must have hurt.

S: his picture is there three times!

Me: they are the other people who died. They were robbers. Jesus hadn’t done anything wrong though. That’s why it’s so amazing. He died, even though he didn’t do anything wrong, and it means we can love God and say our prayers to him without anything being in the way. All we need to say is ‘Jesus, I want you to be my friend forever’. It’s a great prayer.

S: will you say that prayer for me?

Me: Jesus, please be Sophia’s friend forever. Amen.

S: I want to say it for Daddy.

She then got out of bed and knelt down with her hands together. I’m not quite sure where she got the kneeling from!

S: thank you Jesus that you are Daddy’s friend forever. Amen. Thank you Jesus that you are Nanny’s friend forever. Amen. Mummy, you do Granny.

Me: Thank you God that you are Granny’s friend forever.

S: my turn, I’ll do Rara.

And on it went, taking turns until we had covered all our family.

I’m pretty blown away by that to be honest! We then read the story about Jesus coming back from the dead, which I told her is the best bit.

More next week!
