Two Tuesday 34

Happy Tuesday, sorry it’s so late!

Places we’ve been: Tappy Toes, group, Splash World swimming baths, ASSF for the service (which Nathan took – I gave him a solid 8/10), the APCM, Fit For Mission presentation and shared lunch, St Giles for a St George’s Day party, Bloom Baby class and Lullababy.

The biggest event of the week was me and Soph going to Liverpool Empire to see Calamity Jane! We had an amazing time! We got the train and went for lunch to Leaf on Bold Street. We walked to the theatre in the sunshine and had a fantastic time at the show. At the interval – ‘why has it stopped? Soph asked, ‘for ice cream!’ I replied – we treated ourselves to a snack we like, called mochi balls. At the end, we walked out of the theatre and somebody behind us was singing The Black Hills Of Dakota, so I joined in! These people decided to give us their cowboy hats, so me and Sophia got to go and stand outside of the stage door and meet the cast with cowboy hats on!

I was unashamedly loud and full of joy that day, and it was just what I needed!

Us with leading lady, Carrie Hope Fletcher

I was leaking before the show even began, and by the time we got home, I was just as keen to see Aidan as he was to see me! But Nathan did great, and we girls had the best time. People around me didn’t seem to believe that somebody so young would be able to sit through the performance – the lady next to me asked me very pointedly if she had been here before – but Sophia loved the music and the dancing, and apart from whispering loudly ‘what’s for tea, Mum?’ was a dream.

Milestones Sophia is enrolled in Rainbows for September. I’ve also moved all of the nappies out of her room, so I am back to buying nappies for just one child again!

I think Aidan is teething, so I will hopefully have a very exciting milestone to share in the not too distant future!

Food: Aidan continues to demolish his food. Highlights this week have been the baby-led weaning apple and carrot fritters, pasta, cucumber, English muffin with hollandaise sauce, sausage, mash and gravy. He also seems to quite like cake, but he has such a strong grip that it always crumbles in his hand.

He’s also fond of a pickled cornichon. I had a bit of a fright when giving him a change and noticing that one had found it’s way into his nappy…

What Sophia said:

Last night when I was praying for her, I finished by saying something like ‘and I ask that you would be with her while she sleeps tonight, Amen’

To which she said, in her little scouse accent: ‘is ‘e ‘ere? Is ‘e comin’?

I tried to explain, through my laughter, that God is always with us. I’m not sure I got through though…
