Two Tuesday 35

Heya, happy Tuesday to you.

Some places we’ve been this week: my favourite wool shop and cafe, toddlers, Little Jams play centre, Tappy Toes, Macdonalds, the park, St Giles, swimming, the sea side and on a steam train!

Milestones: Not only do we have an eight month old, but we have an eight month old who looked at me as I walked into the room and said, ‘Mama’! We’ve had our first word!

Food: At some point over the last year or so, it’s become a habit to give Sophia a bowl of fruit when she goes in the bath. One night this week, Sophia was lifting a piece of apple to her mouth, and Aidan spotted it. He reached out and grabbed it off her, popping it straight into his mouth! We were both so surprised by this that we laughed, and thankfully, Sophia is so nice with her brother that she didn’t mind.

What Sophia said: When we went to the seaside, we opted for a snack of donuts rather than ice cream. I overheard Sophia saying to Nathan that afterwards ‘tomorrow, what would make me really happy, is an ice cream for a snack, not a donut, that would make me sad’.

Other observations: I’ve been reading back over the first few Two Tuesday blogs, and remembering what it was like at the beginning. I felt like I could never meet both Sophia and Aidan’s needs at the same time. I felt torn, like neither of them got as much as I wanted to give them. But we’ve survived! And now, we can play together, read together, watch TV together, eat together, laugh together, go to the park together, enjoy a walk together. It’s not easy, but looking back, I can say that it’s easier than it was… until Aidan starts moving, that is!
