Two Tuesday 38

Happy Tuesday, let’s dive in.

We’ve been to the shops, toddlers, group, the local councillors surgery, a little coffee morning, St Giles for the service and Annual Meeting, Little Pegs and Speckled Frogs play centre.

It’s not been the greatest of weeks because Soph has been fighting some nasty bug or something. She had a temperature and was very down for a few days, but she did pick up at the weekend. Thankfully, she’s very happy sat in Nathan’s vestry while he does work, which meant Aidan, who was right as rain, could go to group with me.

Playing with blocks

Milestones: Aidan cut his first tooth! It has finally come! He celebrated by having Nathan’s super tasty roast, had having a good chomp on some ham!

Food: increasingly, Aidan wants whatever Sophia is eating! She was kind enough to let him have a try of her twister lolly ice today at Speckled Frogs.

What Sophia said: Sophia can be very grouchy when she’s ill. I’ve no idea who she gets that from. Cough. Not me. Cough.

Anyway, we have had many a full and frank exchange of views this week, including arguing for over a minute about whether her chewy multivitamins are in a jar or a pot. I know I’m the grownup and I should rise above, but I’d just woken up and it was like the tenth thing she had demanded in 30 seconds.

All that being said, even though she wasn’t right, she sat so well while Nathan took his annual meeting. I know how much this particular part of ministry costs and what a strain it can be. I didn’t want Nathan to have to take the minutes while he chaired the meeting, which he often does, so I offered to act as secretary. Lovely Dorothy had Aidan for about 75% of the meeting (thank you, Dorothy), but then Aidan needed a feed. I found myself sat at the front of the meeting facing everyone, feeding Aidan, wiping Sophia’s snotty nose and taking the minutes, while Nathan poured heaps of energy into chairing.

If, for those few minutes, I appeared comfortable or made it look easy, I’m sorry because juggling all that stuff was neither of those things. Afterwards, I suggested all four of us go out for a well-deserved Macdonalds, which we did.
