It’s been a week half at home and half on holiday in Matlock (blog to follow).
We’ve been: to one of my curacy churches, St Michael’s, for worship, on a steam train, on another miniature railway, to Bakewell for lunch, on the Merseyside Breastfeeding week walk and picnic and to Lullababy!
Sleep: How has it taken so long to give sleep it’s own paragraph in my blogs?! Anyway, it all went a bit crazy on holiday because it was so hot and we were sharing a room with the children. Aidan could be on the very brink of sleep and Sophia could whisper something in a super small voice… then ping! Aidan’s eyes would be wide open looking for her.
But since we got back on Friday, things have picked back up again. We’ve both done a solo bedtime. They were both asleep by 7.20 when Nathan was out on Sunday, and they were both down by 8 when I was at a meeting tonight. But when we do it together, they do even better than that. They tend to wake in the night a couple of times each at the moment, although one night, Soph slept 12-5, and Aidan slept 10.45-6! I was awake checking everybody was alive at 3am regardless…
Milestones: I haven’t heard it yet, but Aidan looked at Nathan and said ‘Da’! Which is an improvement on Sophia calling him ‘argh’ for several weeks when she was about this big!

Food: Aidan tried raspberries and he was also very taken by a piece of ham dipped in gravy at Toby Carvery.
What Sophia said: ‘I’m having a gradulation and you are both invited!’
This is her nursery graduation, and I think the staff are getting them ready to do some singing at their little graduation do! I’m going to be a blubbering mess.
Other observations. This is where I am at the moment. I’m loving mat leave, and I’m sad that it’s ending soon. But I think I’ve only enjoyed it so much because I knew it was only for a year. Does that makes sense?
