Wow, why does 43 feel like such a high number compared to 42? Maybe it’s because there’s only 9 weeks to Two Tuesday 52? Anyway, less of the maudlin!
A couple of milestones. Sophia had her first induction sessions at school this week! She seemed to really enjoy it. Aidan can now get himself from sitting up onto all fours, ready to crawl. And Sophia has gone up into age 4-5 clothes!
Some places we’ve been: school (as mentioned above), toddlers, tappy toes, the park for a picnic, the shops, St Giles for communion, Toby Carvery for tea with friends, the Hub for a meeting and the Feel Good Factory for the last ever Friday breastfeeding support group there! We first started going when Sophia was 2 weeks old, so it was lovely to be able to go to the party on Friday.
Sleep. Mixed. Awful. Better. We might be winning? I’m not sure. Last night was really bad, and I was not in the best mood this morning. And yet, Aidan fell asleep in his cot with me singing to him tonight! So, that’s an improvement, at least.
Food: Aidan loves peaches and chocolate moose. He likes the sweetcorn but isn’t a fan of the tomato and basil flavour melty sticks.
What Sophia said: Well, she’s practising for her graduation from nursery. She stands in her pulpit (what we call the toddler kitchen helper in our house) and sings a million dreams from The Greatest Showman, complete with actions. Yes, I have already cried.
Other observations.
In some ways, the countdown is on. But, I have six whole weeks of summer with my lovely pair before we start school, nursery and work in September. There will be no childcare, and Nathan will be working as usual. I have a feeling that the biggest challenge and the greatest joy is yet to come!
