Ministry Mum Monday 13

Yes, I know it’s Tuesday. After a long couple of days wrestling with what to do about Aidan’s childcare provider and his overall childcare routine, we’ve made the tough decision to move him and do things a bit differently. All this wiped me out, and last night I thought ‘do you know what? The blog will wait until tomorrow‘.

Well, now it is tomorrow, so hello!

Last week involved: meetings, the Liverpool clergy study day, Toddlers, the dentist, the church fair, the Rainbows trip to Slimeville, Sunday worship, Sunday lunch at Nathan’s Mum and Dad’s, admin, Christmas prep and a sickness bug.

Mum life: Well, as there’s lots of change for Aidan, that has occupied a lot of my mind.

Ministry life: Ministry was lovely this week. Obviously, we’re getting into the Christmas stuff now, but it’s still good, and the coffee morning at church was just brilliant.

Our day off didn’t happen all together. I took Friday off instead of Saturday and took Aidan to Chester to see Mum and Granny. Aidan had a wonderful time crawling around all the Christmas trees in Chester Cathedral.

Drama: We were so proud of ourselves for being up and ready to go at 8.15 one day, and it was all going so well until Sophia’s cardigan seemed to have disappeared into thin air. We were all frantically looking for the cardigan, which it turned out Sophia had used as a pillow for her dolly, who was taking a nap under a chair!

Sophia was so funny this week. I took her into Liverpool on Saturday afternoon for the Rainbows trip to Slimeville (I got to go too as a parent helper!). We decided to drive and park in the city but the traffic was terrible and it took us 20 minutes to find a space in the car park. She was so funny, saying ‘Are we ever going to find a space? How big is this place? We can go up another level?!’ I think she was as interested in the multi-story carpark as the slime!

Aidan isn’t saying much more, but he has cut teeth 7, 8 and 9!

What I’m grateful for this week: even after a pretty rough fortnight for him, Nathan has been such an amazing support to me.

Coming up: Sophia’s first nativity play – she is an angel.
