Ministry Mum Monday 23

All day yesterday, I kept thinking about this blog. And then at ten past midnight, I turned to Nathan and said ‘darn it! The blog!’

Well never mind. Happy Tuesday to you!

It’s been another full week for me: planning for Christian Aid week, prayer meting, Sweaty Mama, discipleship course, admin, talk writing, Tappy Toes, time in the Hub, family service, Open Table and meetings with colleagues.

On our day off we went to see Princess Belle where she taught Sophia and Nathan a dance together, along with other little girls and their Dads. As lovely as this sounds, Sophia was very hot and cold about it. She seemed to most enjoy going to the cafe next door afterwards!

Ministry life has been really good. We’ve had two brilliant Sundays back to back with new families both times. We’ve started weekly prayer meetings which seem to be bring life to those who are attending, and are having a good impact on church life overall.

Mum life is good, but I’m pleased that we’re heading for half term, both kids need a bit of a rest, Sophia especially.

A lovely conversation with Sophia:

Me: what do you want to be when you grow up?

S: Just like my Mummy

Me: That’s nice! Where do you want to work?

S: In church

Me: ooh, what kind of church?

S: Your church!

Me: At ASSF?

S: Yes! Can we work together in your church when I grow up?

Me: I’m sure they’ll be delighted!

Aidan has started getting really in his Tappy Toes class, especially Dingle Dangle Scarecrow! He lies on the floor when we sing when all the cows were sleeping…’ and then stands up and spins around in a circle shaking his head during ‘I’m a dingle dangle scarecrow’.

Drama: Sophia skipped out of school yesterday to meet Nathan outside and said ‘hello Daddy, I go to after school club on Mondays!’

This week I am especially grateful for God given inspiration for my talk at church on Sunday morning. It was that time of year when we ask for money, and request that people review their giving to church. It can be a tricky topic for many reasons, but it seemed to go down well!

Coming up: Leading the Valentines Day vow renewal with Nathan at St Giles.
