It’s a Monday blog on a Tuesday again! Sorry about that.
Anyway, last week involved: a hymn picking meeting, Trustee meeting, Nursery charity AGM, Lent Study, a prayer meeting, a bonnet parade, Tappy Toes, hot chocolate after school, a very busy family fun day, the Palm Sunday service, the chrism service and lots of Easter prep!
Mum life is ok. Just to add a whole new level of terror to this Holy Week, there was scarlet fever, chicken pox and measles in Sophia’s class last week. She seems to be fine, but we’re keeping a close watch.
Ministry life is very busy – it’s Holy Week!
Our Day Off didn’t happen this week because we both had Easter Family events on Saturday afternoon. Having both had them on Easter Saturday before, we somehow both moved them to the weekend before Easter, and didn’t communicate this until it was too late! Anyway, we managed, with the help of willing family members who volunteered and looked after our excited little people.
I have been reading through the Bible from start to finish and I have finally made it to the New Testament! Sophia was listening in, and was shocked to hear about King Herod killing all the baby boys! She asked if we had a King Herod here. I said no, we have a nice King Charles.
Aidan has mastered that all important sound: ‘ore!’ meaning more!
I am especially grateful for the Easter Family event, and that it exceeded all expectations, including numbers! I’d budgeted for 50 children in terms of food, crafts, easter egg hunt prizes and activities. In the end, we had 89 through the door, plus their parents!
Coming up: all things Holy Week!
