Weekly Check-in 164

Hello, I’m just 2 days late. Still, better late than never! So…

This week: catching up on admin and housework, a midwife appointment, a visit to the hospital to see the consultant, time in the Hub, Ventures Stay and Play, helping out at Breastfeeding Support Group, a trip to the Zoo and a lovely Sunday involving 2 services.

The highlight was a brief trip to Retford to go dress shopping with my sister and her girls! It was fun and we got lots of ideas, and I’d completely forgotten how exhausting Meadowhall can be!

The challenge this week was Sophia having a pretty nasty bug Thursday-Friday. It’s had a big knock on effect for her sleep too, so she’s all out of sync.

Oh, and of course, the big event that takes place in Aintree each year, which I hate. Yes, it brings lots of revenue to the area. But I have disliked animal racing for a long time, and it happening at the bottom of the garden really angers me.

My Ta-Dah moment has been starting to make plans for a hen/baby shower trip to London with Mum, Granny and Tiz. It’s going to be lots of fun!

God Moment: a great Sunday service thinking about how we grow our church and hold events to reach more people.

Mum moment: instinctively reaching for a mixing bowl which was drying on the draining board about three seconds before Sophia threw up. The kitchen table would have been horrible without it!

What Sophia said: ‘Mum, animal at the zoo, really dark and scary, what’s his name?’ Me: ‘Do you mean the aye-aye where it’s all dark inside?’. Sophia: ‘Yes, I want to see the aye-aye’.

Next week (this week): I’m looking forward to some time off!
