Weekly Check-in 165

As our annual leave approaches, time has gone very slowly and this week has been no exception!

Nevertheless, there’s been some lovely moments. This week involved: toddlers with Soph and gang, time in the Hub, waiting for the tumble dryer to be fixed (which it wasn’t), waiting for the internet to be installed (which it wasn’t), Sweaty Mama, admin, a hospice visit and church council meeting.

Highlights: baby is starting to kick! And being given fresh flowers from the garden! Thank you Nathan and Soph.

Challenge: I’m still struggling to shake this cold.

Ta-Dah Moment: doing a couple of months worth of expenses for the both of us.

God moment: Coming across somebody from one of my past ministries and God just gently reminding me that it was a fruitful time, even though it’s over now.

Mum moment: Sophia was sitting in bed one morning drinking hot chocolate. She saw my bump and said ‘Good morning Dumpling, I’m drinking hot chocolate!’

What Sophia said: She was watching the Lion King for the first time in maybe six months. We watched the bit where Mufasa died and she seemed sad because Simba was sad. But half way through Hakuna Matata she said ‘Look Mummy, Simba’s Daddy is better!’ – because he’s now a grownup lion who looks like his Dad! I did tell her that it was just Simba grown up, but it did break my heart a bit!

Next week: we are on leave for a whole fortnight!
