Ministry Mum Monday 21

Hi and happy Monday!

I’ve managed to get over my cold and so it’s been another full week with: Burns night, church council meeting, time in the Hub, a prayer meeting, chats with colleagues, inspired video series, a phonics workshop at school and two Sunday services.

Mum life was pretty good. We had Mum, Dad, Granny and my sister staying for the weekend which was great. It also meant a lot of cleaning and finally sorting the kids presents after Christmas, which, let’s face it, really needed doing!

Ministry life has been wonderful. Quite simply, we’ve decided to start praying more and it just feels brilliant! We’ve got a few things planned, but I was delighted that when, on Tuesday, I suggested a weekly prayer meeting, people were so keen that they wanted to meet the next day! And so we did!

As well as that, I processed the haggis at the Burns night supper! One of many things I never imagined I’d be doing when I went off to Bishop’s Advisory Panel (Vicar interview) eleven years ago today!

Our day off was a funny one this week because I was working in the evening (I’ll be claiming the time back when I go to Mum and Dad’s for half term). But Sophia and Aidan were fighting over the little tykes car so Nathan and I took them to the soft play in the afternoon, and we had a really lovely time. At one point, we were all on together and Sophia said ‘I want to show Aidan EVERYTHING!’.

A conversation with Aidan:

A: Mama

Me: hello! I’m Mama!

A: Dada

Me: yes, and there’s Dada too.

A: Ba-baa

Me: you’re saying Bubba!

A: Rara

Me: yes, Rara! … Aidan, can you say Nanny?

A: uh!

Me: Can you say Granny?

A: Uh!

He’s getting there, Nanny and Granny!

This week, I’m especially grateful for my lovely family and Macdonalds nuggets.

Coming up: Lent prep and a party with some of the St Giles crew.
