Ministry Mum Monday 57

Happy Monday to you!

Ministry life was good but it was a slower week, as I was recovering from a 36 hour cold, but nevertheless a lot was happening. Clergy meetings, Inspired podcast, prayer walking, Rainbows, Musical theatre, Tapoy Toes, wool group, tea with our pals, volunteering at breastfeeding support group, Sunday service and our church council away day.

That last one is misleading because what we actually did was stay in the Hub for the afternoon. We did not go away, and it was not for a day! But still, we talked safeguarding, reviewed our mission activities and did some brainstorming for next year when it will be 20 years since the Hub was built and our buildings were reordered!

Nathan‘s week in three words: harvest, glasses and carpets.

Mum life has not been the greatest for two reasons. Firstly, Aidan’s cough and secondly, Aidan seems to be starting to drop his one nap. Which means, if we are not careful, we could end up in a state of nap carnage and inconsistency for the next year. Lord, help.

Apart from that though, Aidan is good. He’s moving up a group at nursery and seems to be enjoying it. He’s also taken a real shine to his Mercedes. Did I mention Mum and Dad got Aidan a sit in, electric Merc for his birthday? It has lights, a radio and an ignition sound starts when you turn it on. Well, after a month of him mostly just pressing the horn, he’s now driving round downstairs as much as he can, bouncing off the paintwork.

Sophia is lovely, and I’m going to be writing a separate blog about how much she is enjoying reading her Bible! She also got star of the week at her musical theatre again, and she danced at the front of church to lord of the dance yesterday, so she is a very happy girl.

This week I have been praying for lots of families with difficult dynamics.

I am especially grateful for my wonderful church council and our afternoon together yesterday. And also my mother-in-law who brought chocolate when she knew I was under the weather.

Coming up: 24 hours back home to catch up with our newest family member and his wonderful parents (and grandparents, and great grandparents, and siblings, and dogs, and dog uncles, and any other hangers on!).
