Weekly Check-in 163

Hello and welcome back to the Weekly Check-in! You will hopefully know by now that I have been a bit tired of late, and why I let the Weekly Check-ins slip! I had a fairly tiring first trimester, and with everything else going on, weekly blogging was just one thing too many.

Anyway, welcome back. I’m going to chat through last week, which was the week after Easter so it mainly involved lots of sneezing! But there was also a sermon series planning session, fish and chips over the last Jesus 100 discussion group, cleaning out of some cupboards, Quiet Communion, a family wedding and a far busier than expected Low Sunday Communion service.

One special moment was visiting Croxteth Hall Farm Park with our best friends and Goddaughter. It’s such a lovely spot and Sophia was feeding the animals carrots without any fear at all. There were also some brand new animals, including a lamb, a calf and some chicks! The only issue with going to the farm is that I end up unable to eat meat for a day or so…

The challenge, apart from the heavy cold, has been the arrival of all the signs and traffic through Aintree in preparation for that large horse racing event that I loathe at the weekend.

My ta-dah moment was organising the cupboards, notice board and side boards in church. Thanks to Sue for the help!

God was on the move yesterday morning. I’d planned a Cafe style communion service in the Hub as it’s normally a quiet week and I was expecting lower numbers after Easter. In the end, we had to relocate from the Hub into church to fit everybody in! I was stunned!

Mum moment: Sophia going down at 7.13pm last night! That’s a new record! We’ve been trying over recent weeks to help her get to sleep earlier, and it seems that somewhere, sometimes, it’s working.

What Sophia said: She is copying so many words and phrases at the moment. At one point this week, she was in an environment where there were lots of swearing, which worried me, but thankfully it doesn’t seem to have stuck. She has got a new cute phrase, though, ‘I’m so pleased to hear it!

Next week (this week): I’m looking forward to dress shopping for my sister’s big day! I’m also looking forward to going to the zoo on Saturday. I need to be as far away from Aintree as possible on Saturday afternoon, and a place that promotes animal welfare and conservation seems ideal!
