9am I’m still in bed and both children are being looked after by other adults – how lovely! Soph and Aidan were in our bed at about 6.15 when I put the Bluey Play on for them and dozed. Next thing I know, they’ve been scooped up by the others and I’ve been asleep for a while!
9.15 Sophia just came in with a buttered bagel which she tells me she’s done herself! She also walked in earlier, saying ‘he’s got another service tonight!’. Nathan and I both roared with laughter. Welcome to vicarage life, kid!
10.30am We’re all up and dressed, and Sophia and Aidan have gone over to St Giles for their church dressing and tidying. I’m taking the opportunity to do a bit of tidying and tackle the mountain of laundry that has built up!
12.20pm Car nap life!
12.40pm We’re about to leave to take the kids to the cinema to see Bluey. The benefit of doing the fun day last weekend is that we can have a bit of family time today, when we’ve often been rushed off our feet at this point.
2.30pm Bluey was lovely, and we even caught up with one of our Lullababy pals. This afternoon will be spent trying to tire the kids out so they go down easily and we can do some work this evening. Nathan has his Easter vigil, and I have some tenders to read and assess!
4.35pm I’ve set up the sofa slide on the play couch. I’ve made little steps so Aidan can get up on his own. They’re both absolutely loving it, and neither are needing my help to play. I’m simply sat on a chair, drinking a cup of tea! We might have just levelled up.
8pm Tea eaten, bath done, kids down. Time for a couple of hours at my desk doing this admin so I can have some time off next week.
11.15pm So that took a lot longer than I thought, and both kids have been up. I think it’s the sound of the storm because the house is whistling!
Anyway, I think I’m good to go for tomorrow. I just need to make some church snacks so that they can survive two more services without too much bother!
I’m excited for the morning, and I am ready for a rest.
