The Mondays are really starting to fly by now. We must have 13 left before I’ll have done the whole year!
Anyway, this week was half term. I took my bank holiday on Monday and took S&A to Croxteth Park and Little Pegs, and then I worked in the evening. On Tuesday, Nathan took his bank holiday and had the kids while I worked. This involved an events meeting, a pastoral visit, a chat with a colleague in Liverpool, service prepping and church council in the evening.
Wednesday and Thursday were ‘split shift’ days when Nathan and I worked/had the children half a day each and both worked in the evening. This worked far better than I expected and we’ll definitely be doing it again. Sophia was especially pleased with this arrangement because Nathan and I both ended up buying them treats on both days. Double the care givers = double the cake/hot chocolate/ice pops. Win!
I also went to the park a lot, did admin over breakfast, moved chairs for the carpet cleaning, moved chairs for the cafe service, did the prayer meeting, took 5300 postcards to the delivery service, went to the Hub and spent a lot of time avoiding the sun.
Speaking of which, Mum Life was mostly consumed with the weather! Sun cream, hats, water bottles, naps, ice lollies, closed windows and curtains in the day, open windows at night, hiding from the midday sun watching by Bluey in the bedroom, etc.
Ministry Life has been pretty good, with lots of interest in our administrator post. We’re still got a week until the closing date so I am hopeful that this will bear fruit.
On our day off we went to the zoo which was very busy and far hotter than predicted.
Aidan has finally cut that pesky tooth! It hasn’t half given him some grief. Thankfully, this takes him to 15 teeth which means we are 75% of the way there.
Sophia has a new pink dressing up outfit which she is calling her Glinda dress. She asked us to make the play couch into a bubble. This caused some confusion as the playcouch is all straight lines, but eventually we worked out she wanted it to be a cube. She then walked into the cube, emerged and said ‘it’s good to see me, isn’t it?’.
This week I am especially grateful for extra time with S&A, and our beautiful church in the sunshine.

Coming up: Coffee June – we’re inviting everybody in the parish for a coffee in the Hub!
