Two Tuesday 3

I can’t decide if time is going really quickly, really slowly, or somehow both at once. But Aidan is 3 weeks old tomorrow! And so we’ve nearly managed 3 weeks with two children.

It’s pretty lovely, and lots of hard work. Nothing prepared me for the moment when I needed to catch Sophia to do her hair for nursery, right after a long night of cluster feeding. I would have loved to just stay in bed but her hair needed doing and she’s three, so running away and hiding is very much her thing.

A funny conversation this week:

Nathan to nursery key worker: How’s she been today?

Key worker: brilliant! She’s been telling everybody, staff and friends, whether the kids wanted to listen or not, all about her brother.

Places we’ve been this week: Asda, Little Saints toddler group, ASSF for Sunday worship, the swimming baths (me and Aidan watched), Tappy Toes, Macdonalds, the newborn photoshoot and the retail park (which we all walked to!).

Milestones: Sophia took herself to the toilet, climbed her steps, did her business, flushed, washed her hands, and got herself all sorted, all by herself! We have done bathtime with 2 children, one in the tub and one in the baby bath! Nathan and I celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary. It was Aidan’s official due date yesterday!

Some other observations…

Getting two in the car is manageable at the moment. However, it’s going to be another kettle of fish when one of us tackles them both for the first time…

Aidan is able to see better every day and one very lovely thing is that he can track Sophia so much better than last week. He loves to watch her!

The laundry, however, is on another level. It used to be that I’d do a load every day apart from weekends, but if I missed the odd day here or there it was fine. If I miss a day now, it’s like BAM! Three overflowing laundry baskets!

More next week x
