Ministry Mum Monday 32

This Monday has come around especially fast because we spent last week on holiday! We went to Hayfield, near Buxton and had a great time. More about that to follow shortly!

Ministry life has obviously been quiet. I have noticed, though, that I am reluctant to take time off having returned from my maternity leave in September. I know it’s daft, but I’m finding it hard.

Mum life has been both brilliant and bad. The time away with our little family was wonderful, but towards the end of the holiday, Sophia came out in chicken pox! They’re spread all over her and she’s definitely not herself. We even ended up come home a bit early from holiday. Sophia is pleased to have extended her Easter break by a few days, though!

Sophia is like her Mummy, she’s cranky when she’s ill! For example:

Me (coming in at tea time): hi Soph have you had a good day?

Sophia: I don’t want to talk to you!

Aidan is trying to say ‘eye’ and ‘ear’, pointing to his eye and ear as he does so. Most of the time he gets it right, but occasionally gets them confused, much to the amusement of his sister!

Drama: my diary is completely in-flexible at the moment and so it’s a pretty chaotic time for Sophia to have chicken pox! I tried so hard to help them get chicken pox when I was on my mat leave, so that it wouldn’t cause any diary problems. But somehow, despite the two pox parties last year, we have chicken pox now!

I’m especially grateful for a couple of days of sunshine with nothing pressing, apart from getting Aidan down for his nap, which involved long walks with the pram in the lovely weather.

More next time x
