Thank you, Formby and Altcar

November 10, 2020November 10, 2020 revpoppy2 Comments

In the many hours I spent unable to do very much when I had Covid, I got a lot of time to think and reflect. Lockdown meant that I went from curate to incumbent very quickly without being able to say goodbye properly. Thoughts about my time as a curate had been springing up for [...]

Holy Week in a pandemic: Easter Day

April 12, 2020June 8, 2020 revpoppy

5.45am I am awake to make sure that the link to the sunrise service is posted on the Facebook pages. Usually there is a dawn service outside Holy Trinity, complete with a fire, songs, readings, prayers and bacon butties! Right now, I can hear the birds singing and it is beautiful. I'm not sure that [...]

Holy Week in a pandemic: Easter Saturday

April 11, 2020June 8, 2020 revpoppyLeave a comment

9.30am As Saturday is usually our day off and there was nothing particular to get up for, we are having a slower morning. I have shared the reflection for the day on the Facebook pages (link here if you're interested). I'm trying to work out what to do today. Holy Week in a pandemic: Good Friday

April 10, 2020June 8, 2020 revpoppy

It's been a bit of a mad few months what with one thing or another, but @naythorpe is just wonderful. He's strong, faithful and caring, and a great husband, Dad, vicar and priest. He's my favourite 🌟
When we were on holiday we visited St David's Cathedral and I was very struck by this statue of Mary and Jesus. I love how he snuggles into her and that look on her face which to me says fulfillment, tiredness and strength all at once.
❄️
Mine and @naythorpe's first joint project! These will be sent off to our Goddaughter in the next week or so. Nathan did the scarf and the mittens are my knit number 13.
How long until she actually starts doing laundry?!
Another knit that went off over Christmas! I accidentally bought the wrong kind of wool for what I needed so I decided to make a face cloth instead. Knit number 12.
