If you can, I’d like you to picture in your minds eye Liverpool Anglican Cathedral. I would like to paint a picture for you today. Imagine, if you will, that vast space, full of people all dressed up. Imagine that space buzzing with excitement as sixteen deacons are about to become priests, released into their [...]

2020 intentions

January 6, 2020January 6, 2020 revpoppy

I love new year. I really do. Although I try to have a bit of a review and set some goals at the start of each month and sometimes each week, it's good to use the start of the year to focus the mind too. That being said, I'm not doing New Year Resolutions as [...]

Remembrance

Adapted from sermon given on Remembrance Sunday 2019. John 10.7-18 Therefore Jesus said again, “Very truly I tell you, I am the gate for the sheep. All who have come before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep have not listened to them. I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. [...]

Weekly Check-in (10)

September 13, 2019 revpoppyLeave a comment

The first week back at work after holiday is always interesting. It's been a bit of a mad few months what with one thing or another, but @naythorpe is just wonderful. He's strong, faithful and caring, and a great husband, Dad, vicar and priest. He's my favourite 🌟
When we were on holiday we visited St David's Cathedral and I was very struck by this statue of Mary and Jesus. I love how he snuggles into her and that look on her face which to me says fulfillment, tiredness and strength all at once.
❄️
Mine and @naythorpe's first joint project! These will be sent off to our Goddaughter in the next week or so. Nathan did the scarf and the mittens are my knit number 13.
How long until she actually starts doing laundry?!
Another knit that went off over Christmas! I accidentally bought the wrong kind of wool for what I needed so I decided to make a face cloth instead. Knit number 12.
