Uganda A-Z

June 8, 2018June 26, 2020 revpoppy4 Comments

Some years ago I heard of a family who would all write their 'A-Z' on the way home at the end of every holiday and trip. The idea is the find one word for each letter which encapsulates some element of the trip. It's fun to look back on because you include details which you [...]

Uganda: Giving stuff

June 5, 2018June 26, 2020 revpoppy2 Comments

As I mentioned previously, we each brought about 30kg of luggage with us! Emirates is very generous in it's baggage allowance, and so we all carried 10kg of personal luggage and 20kg of suitcases and stuff given by the people of Formby. Donations from St Peter's Church and pencil cases from Trinity St Peter's School [...]

Uganda: doing stuff

June 2, 2018June 26, 2020 revpoppy2 Comments

As we get priested a week today (yikes!) I decided that the only book I would bring with me to Uganda was my Bible, with the additional benefit that I could keep the weight of my luggage to a minimum! So when I had an early night when we arrived in Luwero, I flicked open [...]

Uganda: travel & welcome

May 29, 2018June 26, 2020 revpoppy2 Comments

We're here! It took 24 hours and no less than 6 forms of transport, but we have arrived! When we got off the plane, through immigration, picked up 330kg worth of luggage (more about that in another blog) and headed out into the bright sunshine. Waiting for us was the warmest welcome ever from Sheila, [...]

It's been a bit of a mad few months what with one thing or another, but @naythorpe is just wonderful. He's strong, faithful and caring, and a great husband, Dad, vicar and priest. He's my favourite 🌟
When we were on holiday we visited St David's Cathedral and I was very struck by this statue of Mary and Jesus. I love how he snuggles into her and that look on her face which to me says fulfillment, tiredness and strength all at once.
❄️
Mine and @naythorpe's first joint project! These will be sent off to our Goddaughter in the next week or so. Nathan did the scarf and the mittens are my knit number 13.
How long until she actually starts doing laundry?!
Another knit that went off over Christmas! I accidentally bought the wrong kind of wool for what I needed so I decided to make a face cloth instead. Knit number 12.
