Ministry Mum Monday 37

It’s been a WEEK so apologies that this post is so late!

In a nutshell, last week: Church planting conference, local churches meeting, supervision, nursing home communion, prayer meeting, inspired podcast session, coffee with a colleague, ecumenical morning prayer, admin meeting, Women’s Voices conference, ascension day service, Tappy Toes, building meeting, funeral, much tidying, Sunday worship and St Giles tea dance!

Mum life was carnage. Several balls were dropped. Aidan got a temperature and needed to be picked up from nursery, just as Nathan ran out of petrol on the motorway. This meant that a wonderful parishioner walked Aidan around the nursing home grounds while I did communion so that said temperature wasn’t brought wthin close proximity to the residents.

Ministry life is busy, with lots to organise and do!

Our day off was spent apart. Nathan took the kids to see his Mum and Dad and I tidied some parts of the house. It was productive and needed doing, but challenging – I missed them and our usual Saturday together.

Sophia can count all the way up to 49! ‘But not 50, 50 is too big for me’, she says!

Aidan can do lots more animal sounds now, including ‘oooooo’ (moo), ‘aaaahh’ (baa) and ‘urr urr’ (oink).

He’s also so obsessed with cars that he’d rather watch a van reversing in a carpark than go into a party!

This week I’m especially grateful for the tea dance at St Giles. There is something so mesmerising about watching ballroom dancing and there was a really lovely community feel.

Coming up: the most epic of all girl dates!

Sophia and a hall full of lights!
