In November I decided to set goals to focus my time over the month (see the blog post here). I didn’t get everything done, but I did find it to be a really useful way to break bigger projects and aspects of ministry into smaller chunks.
In November, I did 10 pastoral visits, set up a facebook page for St Michael’s, made lots of graphics for social media, wrote 2 extra blogs and did enough work on the Eco Church Project that we appear to be eligible for the bronze award!
However, I didn’t lose 4lb, I haven’t got all my December sermons organised (yet!) and I didn’t even pick up Shameless apart from to take it on holiday and not read it!
So, in order to keep myself accountable, I am setting targets for December too. There aren’t quite as many as last month because there is such a lot going on in December as it is! This is what I’m aiming to get done:
- Establish an Eco Church team at St Michael’s
- Get some new Home Communion orders of service printed
- Do 10 visits
- Finish Shameless by Nadia Bolz-Weber
- Lose 2 pounds (I doubt this will happen but I’ll at least give it a go!)
- Write 4 extra blogs
- Get ahead and put together a new Epiphany order of service for St Michael’s
The picture above is of the goals in my bullet journal.
I will obviously be delighted to survive the busiest month of the year, but it’s nice to have some more specific things to focus on!
I’ll check back in at the beginning of January.
Happy December, everyone!
