Blog 100

So, this is my 100th blog on RevPoppy! How crazy is that?

A lot of things have since I set up the site during my first month of curacy in 2017, and I love that lots of it is recorded here!

First I was ordained and there were all sorts of surprises, then there was my first New Wine and my hen do at Greenbelt. Next, we got married and shortly afterwards found ourselves on a deanery trip to Germany. By my first Christmas ordained, I was 6 months into curacy.

In 2018 I started driving lessons and was getting used to being a wife. Before long, Easter was upon us and I blogged everyday, finishing on Easter Day. I had a bit of a wobble before being ordained Priest, but before I knew it, I was off to Uganda with the team from St Peter’s and Trinity St Peter’s School. Later in the summer, we lost our lovely dog Jenna but things started to pick up at New Wine number two and Greenbelt number eleven. Later on, I passed my driving test and we celebrated our first wedding anniversary. Soon, it was Christmas again and 2018 was over!

In the new year, I donated my hair to charity and I was involved in the Liverpool Tell Serve Give Mission. Easter happened, again with blogs every day and soon after we were celebrating being priests for a whole year! Later, I did a placement at Alder Hey and I started blogging every Friday. Over summer, I went to New Wine again, and, of course, Greenbelt! I also celebrated communion in Retford and had a day at my Secondary School.

That’s quite a lot of blogs when I look at it like that, and that’s not even all of them! I enjoy writing and getting my thoughts down, and if people happen to read them then that’s just a bonus.

To quote one of my very favourite ever programmes, Call The Midwife:

‘For what is joy if it goes unrecorded, and what is love if it is not shared?’

Whether my thoughts about my adventures, joyful or otherwise, are simply recorded here, or whether they are read by others, I’m really pleased.

But I do know that there are people who regularly read and follow this blog, so if there’s anything you would like to see more of, or less of, then please let me know!

I’m on the verge of sharing a blog I’ve been building up to for a long time, so more to follow shortly.

Much love,

Poppy
